Retailers, restaurants & community groups combine to launch
Get Local initiative to promote locally grown food
To
help people in the Lower Mainland choose more locally grown food,
a group of non-profit organizations and food industry businesses
have combined resources to launch a marketing and public awareness
campaign called Get Local. The campaign will stimulate public
support for locally grown food and raise awareness around "food
miles", the environmental and economic benefits of buying
locally produced foods and products, and the businesses that offer
them.
Learn more about Get Local at a launch
event on Tuesday, August 28 at 10 am, meet the people behind the
campaign and sample some delicious local food and drink.
